This cedar wabi-sabi table/trunk from the 1950s has a beautiful reddish-brown colour. The coffee table is slightly lifted off the ground by small guides mounted at the bottom. The edge at the top is carved with a gouge. 
In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi is all about appreciating the beauty of things in nature or existence that are imperfect, impermanent & incomplete. This unique coffee / side table is a wonderful example. In it’s simplicity it brings a lot of warmth to the interior. It is in very good and original condition and has acquired a nice warm patina over time.
